Re-Contract changes to the essentials pack

Has anyone attempted to Re-Contract down to the essentials base pack? The website consistently advises it is for new customers only, but just wondering if anyone has succeeded in the change.

The 'Legal Bit' at the bottom of this page indicates that Essential TV is for new and existing customers, though the price differs: https://www.sky.com/tv/stream

Re: Re-Contract changes to the essentials pack

I am an exisiting subscriber and called today to cancel my TV package but was offered the Essentials TV package instead for £15, also multiroom for an additional £15.

Also I was told that I would loose all my recordings and channels not in HD and it is activated immediately, as I am out of contract.

After posting this on the forum it was confirmed that you would only loose recordings that require a subscription and HD channels are as per Freesat

I think you may be talking about Sky Q Essentials rather than Sky Stream essentials which this forum is for.

hi @Nickeva67

Just to let you (& others) know.

Unfortunately the TV Essentials you have been offered for SKY Q is not the same as Essential TV on SKY Stream

SKY rather unfortunately ( we could possibly use other less polite terms) have managed to confuse virtually everybody by having 2 different products on the platforms called almost the same thing
