Rant: Constant issues with Stream
I haven't had Sky Stream for a year yet and I've had so many issues with it, I can't believe this is an actual product on the market right now.
Pretty much every other time I open Sky, there will be something that requires me to unplug it at the mains to fix and/or not fix.
Ad skipping tab not available (even on Sky channels like Atlantic, for example)
Constant issues with Sky Sports F1 steaming and playlist
Main menu freezing/not loading/taking ages to load
Amazon Prime in particular is one of the worst - taking ages to load, having to turn of and on again to start, "something went wrong" coming up with every episode click
Having to refresh/reload/restart basically all the time just to watch something
I have Sky WiFi right next to the TV, so no, its not that.
This is more a vent to Sky, rather than a troubleshooting issue. For all we pay for this service, please produce something that doesn't make me want to chuck the remote across the living room and read a book instead.

Re: Rant: Constant issues with Stream
Hi @KC30
Are you connected via ethernet or WiFi? There can be an instance where WiFi can be too strong! I've got 4 pucks and 2 glass TVs and work without so much as needing to reboot.
Have you tried repositioning you puck or router? Have you reported your issue to sky?

Re: Rant: Constant issues with Stream
I'm not unhappy with Stream as such and fortunately have had few problems with it. I do however believe it's a huge downgrade on Sky Q. The Americanisation of the Menus has made it all less intuitive. The lack of the ability to record I think is going to be a bit of a hurdle for Sky if as expected they don't provide a satellite service beyond 2029.
The Playlist is okay, but I used to like to keep parts of programs, for example news clips or specific guests on entertainment programs and bits of sporting events.

Re: Rant: Constant issues with Stream
@KC30 sorry you are having issues but a few points firstly you cannot skip ads if you are watching the linear channel thsy would requires a time machine not a video streamer😀. Watch the content from on demand if you want to avoid ads.
I agree that the Prime app takes too long to load Sky can only use the app Amazon provides which is less integrated than say Netflix. I know from briefings superusers get that Sky are aware of issues lije this and are working to improve integration but it takes two to tango Amazon have to agree to changes.
With Sky Sports F1 I set up the playlist from the TV schedule so I get the full UHD weekend every time. You should only need to do this once as oncecset up it repeats every time. Settingup from the menu often picks up the Main Event channel which chops and changes.
The issues with the inteface are not something I get but couple of pointers firstly do not enter too many commands at once you are controlling a remote server. Secondly if the Sky hub is close to the puck use an Ethernet cable and turn off the puck's WiFi. With Sky hubs you can lterally be too close so if under 2 metres use Ethernet its to do with the way the aerials are arranged.

Re: Rant: Constant issues with Stream
Yes, I am aware of how and when skipping ads work, hence the issue of the "skip ads" feature not coming up on the screen when watching Sky channels on demand.
Funny how Prime works fine with all other platforms. If Sky can't get Amazon "to tango" then they shouldn't offer this service.
I know how to watch F1. I couldn't be bothered to type up all of the issues I've had with this channel, but you can take a look at the community threads and see for yourself, as others will tell you.
I shouldn't have to use a cable. I pay for Sky TV and Broadband with WIFI. If I have to go out of my way to make it so these two services work together then they are not compatible, nor feasible, products.
