Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

I wish the update would hurry up. One of my boxes has received it but not my newer one. It's a pain in the backside.  ☹️

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

I've had both stream boxes I have updated to 3.268.3 and I'm still seeing the tiles missing issue anyway. Not sure if that release was supposed to fix that, I saw another post saying 3.277.0 would resolve the problem, but who knows.

Not sure if this is the same issue others in this thread are experiencing, but 3.268.3 (as referenced in the "Answered" post) hasn't helped at all for me 😞

I've done hard reboots etc. prior to posting this

@Anonymous

😵💫 just read you have powered off 🥴

Have you powered the tv off since the update, if not power off at the mains for 30 seconds and power back up. It's always worth rebooting after any update to ensure installation is complete and gremlins are removed.

UI3.268.3 has certainly cleared the issue on my equipment but I have rebooted them all by the mains.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

Hey @Gincap , thanks for the reply,

Yes I've done all that, not here to bash sky again as I've done plenty of that, just reporting that the issue isn't resolved for me. I know people on this thread are hoping version 3.268.3 fixes things for them, but for me it hasn't so just reporting that.

In my opinion, sky should be telling their customers the status of fixes and what actions they should take to ensure they have them.
Anway, hopefully the update may work for others. I've had these issues since April and now am pretty much using my Apple TV device instead of the stream devices so I'm past caring.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

My Stream Box must have updated overnight, home from work and now on UI 3.268.3 and everything is now working as it should, I was missing sporadic tiles on lots of rows, but this update has not only fixed that but seems to have made the display more punchier, lets hope it stays this way 🤞🏻

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

I've had another UI update overnight

3.291.1

seems a lot better

there are now options in the reset and updates section where you can manage the installed apps on an individual basis

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

3.291.1 installed on my Glass Gen 2 and it's definitely an improvement. Using the menus and home page is a dream now. It was slow and sluggish running 3.268.1.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

To those that have had the UI update, do you have the old stream or the new stream with the grey power cable? Just wondered since I thought I would have had it on both my boxes now and not just the older one.

My power cable is a light grey/off white colour - and I have the new update. My UI version is 3.291.1.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

It's not limited to certain hardware. I have two Gen 2 glass TV's. One has it, the other doesn't. No idea if my Glass Air has it; I haven't checked.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

Hi. Long time lurker, first time poster.

Been with Sky since the analogue days. Got rid of Sky Q because of the cost about 3 years ago but decided to come back because nothing quite scratched that itch when it came to sport in UHD.

Spoke to some friends who had Sky Stream and they recommended it.  Thought why not, ordered it and had it delivered September 1st.

Thank God I found this thread because I've been tearing my hair out with this thing.  It seems I've received a horrible bug ridden laggy mess of a device. Granted the picture quality is absolutely spot on and it's nice to be watching the F1 and the tennis in UHD again but navigating the menus is absolutely horrific.

I press the home button, it thinks about it for a couple of seconds then loads the menu. Scroll up, down, left and right and it's worse than an 8 year old Sony tv with an android OS I've recently got rid of and that thing was buggy as hell. I finished work about an hour ago, sat down to try and watch something and every channel gave me the message the content you have selected cannot be played on this device.

Now I know it's not my wifi because I get 900mb with my EE broadband, the network connection status is excellent and the Netflix speed test gives me 523.35 Mbps so I can only assume it's the build and UI versions which everyone is talking about in this thread. For reference my puck is Build Version QS040.040.00P and the UI Version is 3.291.1. What I've gleaned from this thread is an update or a rollback might sort my issues out but I shouldn't hold my breath.

The main reason I'm posting in here is that I just want to know if these pucks are usually a bit buggy due to the relatively simple nature of the device compared to say an Apple TV box or a Fire TV Cube with a lot more oomph behind it or are they usually pretty smooth and way less frustrating as I'm finding it to be because what I'm experiencing is enough for me to take advantage of the cooling off period and bin it off.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

@Dave+Bott  Welcome to the community and the frustration of using a Sky Stream puck. The behaviour you are experiencing is not unusual for Sky Stream. You are correct in your assertion that the hardware is generally felt to be the cause of everyone's issues. Recently every new software update released by Sky has brought with it a new problem. I can only suggest trying a restart of your puck which often brings temporary relief.

Sky Stream
OS 1.3

Platform 8.4p40s1
Hardware IP061-ef

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

@darling412001 Thanks for the reply.

I should've mentioned I've done numerous soft resets, hard resets and one factory reset just to try and get somewhere but seemingly to no avail.

I want it to work. I really do. I was an early adopter of Sky Q. I remember all the teething problems that had and it ended up being a fantastic bit of kit. Sometimes I regret getting rid of it but then I remember how pricey it was getting. Stream feels like the sweet spot I'd be happy with but Sky are nearly four years down the road with Stream and to keep having problems like this is barmy!

It seems slightly better this morning but not by much.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

Still waiting, tiles still missing, still on 3.268.1

Are Sky updating Glass gen 2 first?

Mine is gen 1.

Why does it take so long!
