Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

I was up early this morning. The stream was off but it had a flashing white light for a few minutes. Yes I thought, the update to fix the thumbnails is being installed. But alas when I turned the Stream on there had been no update. ☹️

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

My Gen 2 55" Living room TV hasn't been updated, but the 43" Gen 2 and Air in both bedrooms have. Just a case of having to wait.

Don't force a software update, as all this does is reset the TV and it will still be running whatever outdated software version was on prior to the forced update.

Some blank tiles

A week or so with some blank tiles on my TV, the very idea I actually pay for this and have to complain is not acceptable, full restart does does and a complete power off at the wall for 19 minutes does nothing either, getting very frustrated and looking at ending the whole package.

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

I'm getting bit annoyed with UI I'm on how some of tiles are blank when my bedroom puck has it but not my Glass Gen 1 but this what confused me that Sky has to send these updates out in Small batches twice a week in case there is bugs but makes me laugh that Apple sends out there update once a year like new iOS 27 that comes out a week tomorrow but sends it to millions of users with hardly any problems that's why us Sky customers should join a beta for each update they do report back with feedback 😁😁

Hi @ScottishClaymore Like you I am eagerly awaiting iOS 27 along with new iPadOS, tvOS and MacOS but I don't actually agree with you in some respects.  For the last few years I have waited a couple of weeks before downloading them to allow time for Apple to correct all the issues the new OS's introduce.  I am fed up with problems when I update too soon after release.  Also, in the past, when I have tried to update on release I have had to wait for days as the queue to download is so long (as you say millions of people downloading)..

If you Google iOS27 issues a few days after release I bet you will find many people complaining about one thing or another.  Bricked phones, loss of internet etc.

A fundamental difference between Apple and Sky updates is that with Apple you decide when to download whereas with Sky it is forced upon you.  I agree that Sky have far less subscribers than Apple but it still amounts to many many millions.

Here's hoping the new Apple OS's are trouble free this time 🤞

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

I’m having exactly the same problem on a Sky Glass Gen 1 running 3.268.1. Loads of blank tiles and it’s getting really frustrating now.

What I find most unacceptable is the complete lack of communication from Sky. This has clearly been affecting people for a while, yet there doesn’t seem to be any proper update on what’s causing it, when it’s going to be fixed, or even a rough timeline for the update to reach everyone.

We’re paying a lot of money for these TVs and the service every month. Having large parts of the UI showing as blank boxes for days on end really isn’t good enough.

It should of been rolled back to a previous version weeks ago if they could see people where having problems.

I’m sick of looking at blank tiles and just want to know: when is this actually going to be fixed on Gen 1 Glass?

Re: Problems with missing tiles and the UI lagging

When is this update expected to be completed?

'As quickly as we can' isn't helpful to those of us who've had the problem for almost a MONTH, and haven't seen an update from you on this thread for more than a fortnight.
