Playlist issues with Sky Sports

So, we subscribe to Sky sports as we are huge cricket fans. Today has been the semi final of the ICC women's World Cup in India and England women have played South Africa. We added the series to pur playlist and today's game is showing on the list however when we select 'play' we get 'There is a technical Fault. Try again Later'.
We have reset the broadband Router and the Puck. We can watch other sky sports channels live. But whenever we try to watch the recording we keep  getting the same message. It really is a dreadful system. Any suggestions? Thank you

I had the same issue with the Bills/Chiefs live NFL game. The games either side of it were fine but not that one.

I phoned support who said they would send out a new puck. I refused it, given that the programmes (as far as I know) are not stored on the puck and so it must be an issue on a server somewhere. he said it would be fixed in the next few hours. 28 hours later still broken

Nothing is stored on the puck - SkyOS is a server-based operating system. All apps and playlist information is stored on the server.

For Sports programming, the trick to improve your chances of 'cloud recording' an event is (apparently) to make sure you add it to your playlist specifically from the Programme Guide, not from a Sports event page or other on demand advertising page.

I say this with no experience whatsoever as I don't watch sport, but those who do say that this is what you need to do. Whether it works or not still seems to have a degree of luck attached to it though.

Re: Playlist issues with Sky Sports

We always add to the playlist from the programme guide and in particular always select from the Sky Cricket channel. However, another failure of the system is that when an event is shown simultaneously on Sky Main Event and sky Cricket, the default 'recording ' seems to be from the main event channel- even when we didn't select it from there. Often this is not a complete recording of the event as Premiership football seems to be the priority and as soon as a football match comes on, the recording of the cricket stops. So on Sunday, we went to watch the ICC women's final between Australia and India and the recording was only 4 hours long instead of 7 hrs 45 mins as it should have been if it had been recorded on the sky cricket channel. Yet another disappointment!

Re: Playlist issues with Sky Sports

Thanks both. This experience rings true then. The NFL recording was shown as the Main Event channel rather than the dedicated NFL channel. I wonder if this was the case on Sunday night

This sounds disastrous. Did you fast forward to the end of the "recording" to check that it did in fact cut off nearly half the original broadcast?
