Live streams are generally more compressed than the on demand versions. Dark scenes in particular can suffer badly from high levels of compression, creating the artefacting you see on the live version.
It's always best to watch on demand if you can, and in the case of GoT, in UHD with HDR if you have the appropriate add-on.
