New sky stream remote cant get back off to remove paper

Is this a common problem. Putting paper in the remote must cause lots of issues. Very poor of Sky. Can't get the back of either. So can't set up stream now. Very disappointed

Sky advises this manoeuvre (or it could be suggesting prayer is appropriate ; )

@Leythersrus  The remote back is very stiff to remove the first few times.  Other subscribers have suggested wearing rubber kitchen gloves to give you more purchase on the remote.  Note, the back only moves a few millimetres and it can then be removed.

Good luck.

Yes thought about that. Sky supposed to be sending replacement remote.

Yes, that sounds about right! Just tried to set up another puck and the plastic tag to activate the batteries broke off (yet again) and I found it incredibly difficult to get the back off.

Ended up using a knife to try to prise it apart and thought I'd wrecked it...

Could Sky not re-think the design rather than just suggesting rubber gloves and for heavens safe put a stronger plastic tag in so they don't break off so easily!?

I have been trying to open the remote back cover to investigate why in world the remote is not working and yes, the back cover does not slide. Tried all possible techniques and failed. I have two sore arms now.

@athoynilima  It is certainly very stiff the first few times you remove the back but It definitely comes off otherwise you would not be able to change the batteries.  It only moves a few millimeters before the back can be lifted off.

Make sure you are trying to slide it in the direction of the small arrow on the back and maybe wear some kitchen gloves to give you some additional grip.

I'm not going to repeat everything else posted in this thread so have a look to see if it help you with your predicament.

@Sjb0099  Sky have never suggested using rubber gloves just other Sky subscribers who are trying to help others resolve a problem. 👍
