New package set up

Installation a week ago BUT no remote control. Still no operational Sky TV. Phoned several times to request one. One agent said I can use the Sky Remote app, but it repeatedly can't find my device (the puck) to connect to. Question: is the remote control essential to activate Sky TV initially? I assume that once activated the phone app will operate it. All is plugged in correctly and there is Sky WiFi in the room, with my phone connected to it.

It seems pretty bonkers to send you the puck without the remote, I do wonder at times????? I'd be tempted to send the whole thing back to be honest. There are other legal ways to receive Sky's programming.

Still waiting. At least three of their agents whom I spoke to said they were ordering a remote for me ... Are they rare, difficult to get hold of, frequently misappropriated? To add insult to injury, I've just been billed for Sky TV. How can they say it's activated when we can't access it?

Sky Stream automatically activates 14 days after a customer receives their puck I believe, whether you've turned it on or not.

If you're really desperate to get a remote then you can get them on Amazon. They cost £30 though, but you might be able to get Sky to credit you the cost back for the inconvenience.

Yes, I know about Amazon. Just too bloody minded to shell out.

Fair enough. It does seem somewhat daft that they sent out a puck to a new customer with no remote in the box... and now can't send out a replacement in a timely fashion.

Good luck getting it sorted!

Re: New package set up

Update and conclusion: TWO remote controls through the letterbox yesterday! All connected and working now. Bumpy start, as Open Reach Guy 1 declared the telegraph pole unsafe and wouldn't climb it. Guy 2 DID, and connected us to full fibre. As mentioned no remote at that stage. Also the Sky Max WiFi extender wasn't initially delivered. BUT it WORKS now, after a few hard starts and updates. Bansai!
