My sky pucks keep disconnecting from wifi

My sky glass works perfectly. I also have 3 sky pucks in other rooms and they all keep disconnecting from wifi. So every time I turn those tvs on I have to reconnect the puck to the wifi. It's only been happening the past few weeks.

Re: My sky pucks keep disconnecting from wifi

I had this problem non stop when I first got my pucks. I have four in total, with the same problem on all of them.

The main puck I connected to Ethernet, but I still got the connection error message occasionally.

I am on Virgin Media broadband, and using Deco mesh routers.

In the Deco app I limited all of the pucks to 2.4GHz. On the Virgin router I set a fixed address for all of the pucks. This cured all of my connection problems. I also set the pucks to not sleep and to keep the connection alive.

I have about 30 WIFI devices including two Apple TVs, all left on default settngs, no connection problems, so the fault is 100% with the Sky Stream pucks, they are very fussy.

Re: My sky pucks keep disconnecting from wifi

I have exactly the same problem. I have two sky stream boxes and I also have the Deco (X20) mesh network. I did a firmware update on the mesh about a week ago and the sky pucks started disconnecting.

Re: My sky pucks keep disconnecting from wifi

I made the following settings:

Puck:

Set puck to keep network connected at all times

Virgin Media Hub:

Reserve IP addresses for each puck (Ethernet and WIFI)

Deco Units:

Created IOT network, set to 2.4GHz only, connect all Sky pucks to this network (force pucks to 2,4GHz only)

Set each puck to only connect to the nearest Deco unit

Using these settings each puck is pretty much locked down, only connecting at 2.4GHz, with a fixed IP, to the nearest Deco.

Befiore doing all these settings the pucks literally gave the "connection problem" error every time the woke up, now I virtually never see it.

One of my pucks kept connecting to the furthest away Deco at 5GHz, and kept getting buffering, now it has no problems.

Even with these settings, with 1 Gigabit Virgin Media and an Ethernet connection on my main puck, I still see the odd black/white screen and loss of sound when using the pause, fast fwd, rewind and "start from beginning" functions. Watching live TV and playing from apps is fault free.
