@MarkGoldsmith  I'm back on Auto and so far there is no evidence of lip sync so hopefully it is resolved 🤞

Re: QS025 Lip Sync Issues

@lettice get you. So you basically can't force the OS updates, but you can with the firmware. Thank you for explaining to someone like me who needs a bit more help, so thank you so much

Re: QS025 Lip Sync Issues

The lip sync problem is not just happening to people utilizing a soundbar, me included. Hence, Sky's workaround won't apply to these customers.

When you put the plug back in, I notice that the Sky logo comes on. Once it has done this nothing happens, so I press the Home Screen on. It then does the normal please wait

Is this correct? Or do I not press the Home Screen

Yep that's normal behaviour. When you unplug and then plug back in it does the sky logo thing and then turns itself to standby mode. You then just press the power button on the remote to turn it on again as per usual.

You can only force an update to the current firmware your device is assigned. As the updates are released to devices in batches not all devices are able to be updated. This method will only work if your device is stuck on an older firmware release .... it won't get you on to a new one if your device is not on the current batches

@JohnSimkin  This is a known issue which Sky are trying to resolve.  They advise that as a temporary workaround you change your audio settings to PCM or Passthrough.

A new update (QS028) started rolling out last night and I have have been updated.  Since being updated I have not noticed any lip sync issues so lets hope the new software has resolved the problem.

Re: Sky stream lip sync.

Bought a Sky Glass tv and changed to Sky Stream on 23/4/24.

A couple of anomalies have shown up, like the channel changing without anyone being near the remote, but the most annoying is the sound going out of sync with the picture.
it has happened a few times but tonight it did it during Four Weddings and a Funeral at around 10.30pm and it spoilt our enjoyment.
Is this normal as we don't know if it's the Glass or the Stream at fault??

Regards

The lip sync issue is sadly quite normal for many customers. Sky have been trying to improve it for a while now and a software update is in the process of being rolled out at the moment which is supposed to fix it.

Channel changing without using the remote would suggest that possibly the voice control is active on the Glass TV and is perhaps mis-hearing something else said. You can turn the microphone off using the button on the side of the TV. This may help. Also try giving the TV a reboot by turning it off at the wall for a minute or two and allowing it to restart. This often temporarily fixes the various glitches that Glass TVs sometimes suffer from.
