Re: Itv picture issue

The ITV stream on Sky Stream is of a better quality than that on ITV X via Q. Generally the picture quality on sky stream is better than that of Q

Re: Itv picture issue

Thanks for the reply but I  would really like to know how ITV1 on Stream compares with the excellent picture quality of ITV1 from satellite.

Generally as I understand it, it would seem the the picture quality on Stream is better than that of SKYQ but ITV has not always been up there with the best channels.

Have they sorted out the quality issues?

At present for example,  ITVX showing for example, Emmerdale,  either on my TV App or from ITVX on SKY has that 'soapbox' effect' that it doesn't have on the satellite transmissions. Emmerdale direct from SKy Satellite is one of the best programmes for picture quality.

Re: Itv picture issue

I've had stream since around march. And since the problems with itv were fixed I haven't had any issues. My Internet is only 50-55 maps and the picture is just as good if not better than q.

Itv 1 freezing and loosing sound

Itv 1 keeps freezing and losing sound using Sky Streaming Puck. This happens everyday and seems to be more frequent. Have rebooted router and puck but issue still occuring.

Re: Itv 1 freezing and loosing sound

Who is your ISP?

What is your connection speed to the internet measured using the Netflix Network check?

Do you have the same issues accessing ITV broadcast channels using ITVX on your Smart TV?

Re: Itv picture issue

ITV on Stream is superb quality. In fact all HD channels on Stream are the same. Even SD channels surpass the equivalent channels on satellite and Freeview. The main thing is you have a fast internet connection for a stable picture. I joined Stream when our BT line could just manage 17mbps at best. Even using ethernet I had issues. Now we're on fttp the picture is rock solid.

So I shouldn't be too concerned with ITV pic quality, that's great, just make sure your internet is fast and stable enough, specially if you use wifi.

My broadband download speed is 700mb/s and service status check is all good.

Re: Itv picture issue

@Tom+Adamson @Why do you keep using ITV X on Q as a comparison of what ITV on stream looks like. You've been told the picture quality of ITV 1 on stream is better then Q. Why don't you try an friends or visit a sky store to see

Is that via the test using the Netflix app as mentioned earlier? Or a testing using the ISP's app and to the router rather than the Stream device?

Re: Itv picture issue

I am referencing X because much of our viewing of ITV programmes on Q is recorded content rather than live. Where does Stream get its non-live ITV from?

I understand that Stream generally has better live PQ than SKYQ but ITVX does not compare with live TV.

I may be able to view non-live ITV programmes via Stream in Curry's. I'll check it out thanks.. Other than Curry's though there is no other source locally that I can find. I am contemplating using  EE's newly commenced SKY package but our local  EE store hasn't got facilities to demo.

My current SKY package finishes at the end of this month.

Re: Itv picture issue

@Tom+Adamson @What do you mean by EE recently commenced Sky Stream package ?? EE are simply re-selling Sky stream, your contract will be with Sky not EE, plus you can get better prices directly with Sky??? Am I missing something

Re: Itv picture issue

@Tom+Adamson Did you not read what I said ? EE are simply reselling sky stream, as PC world do, it's the same product, billed through sky? It's just another place to purchase sky stream. Same box, same programmes, all billed though sky. What are you gaining from purchasing from EE? Sort from paying more ?

Re: Itv picture issue

Thanks for your info

i did read what you wrote, but as the EE had just advertised their link up yesterday with SKY and I am coming to the end of my SKY Q contract and also checking out changing my broadband package as well it seemed an apt moment to investigate having a complete package with EE.

There is at least one difference; not checked out price yet, between going direct with SKY vs with EE. At present EE are only able to supply 3 pucks and I would need 4. So EE is not an option for me, as it goes,  irrespective of any potential price difference.

As to the picture quality of ITVX on Stream vs ITVX on Q ( ITVX PQ on Q is not as good as ITV over satellite and the of course the recordings made on the Q box )

I have yet to check out the PQ of ITVX on a puck or on Glass.

I'll see if Curry's can demo ITVX on SKY Stream for me.

Re: Itv picture issue

@Tom+Adamson  You still don't appear to be grasping this. If you purchase sky stream on the EE website it will just act as conduit for your sky order. By purchasing via EE website your tv and broadband will not be bundled. You will have broadband with EE and TV with sky. Exactly the same as if you purchased broadband from EE and tv from sky.

the product is the Same, EE are just receiving a commission or reward for advertising sky stream
