I have given up and cancelled my sky stream subscriptions. I don't see the point of paying £34.50 per month for a service that is not fit for purpose for live TV.
Sky just accepted this even though i am within my 18 month contract - I just need to return the puck's when they send the packaging
It would be great if it worked with live TV
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish!

@Jporch316 nonsense, back four or five years ago there was an audio issue with the Sky Q boxes and the thread of people complaining was no bigger than the ones seen here
Sky eventually admitted defeat and refunded people in full and allowed them to leave penalty free
the overwhelming majority of people don't think to come on a forum to add their opinions
they phone up Sky , get told absolute rubbish and either put up with it or make a fuss and get told they can leave
forums and the comments posted on them are NOT indicative of issues
to say more people would be here complaining of it were a Sky issue is something I'd expect from a Sky representative, it's so misleading and untrue

Far from being a sky representative.... I'm actually a customer the same as everyone else on here. I pay my sub and expect it to work within my tolerance parameters.
you ll find I have started many threads on here (playlist issues, paramount plus app issues) and have been critical where necessary. I've also read a vast amount of posts where users have issues which have been down to their own network environment. I think if you read the advice I gave it amounted to removing all of the networking variables to see if the issue still remained. I don't think that particular user responded to my post or was unable to remove his firewall setup due to work constraints.
when two users have the same base setup but one user has a firewall with work policies operating and the other doesn't ...... logic would dictate to remove the firewall for troubleshooting.

And to remove any doubt we are not representatives of Sky either 🙂

So, why do I only have issues with sky stream when streaming live TV?
Live TV was why I bought the sky stream devices
Sky Stream is fine to watch Amazon prime
I can watch amazon prime, netflix and Virgin on demand on other devices within exactly the same network environment

if you are using wifi then try Ethernet. If you are using Ethernet then try WiFi. If Ethernet is not possible try powerline adapters
if the speed you are getting at the actual puck is between 30-40mbps then it may struggle
if you have thick walls or electrical interference it may struggle
boosters can cause problems, network switches can cause problems, dns settings can cause problems. Some
Fibre providers have had issues.

Been there done that
WIFI and Ethernet get the same behaviour
I'll not pursue this much more as I have given up and cancelled my subscription after 12 months of experimentation and do not want to waste any more of my time on this
I consider myself to be very technically able having worked in multiple roles (software development, IT management and consultancy) in the IT environment for more years than I care to remember

Same here @Parsedave been in the IT Space for 30 years next year. People don't know that though, some people on here are helpful, others are level and badge hunters! 🤣

@Anonymous we all know now though 😀How's those 30 years experience doing for your Stream issues; all sorted 👍🏻
Joking aside, there are those that like to post for the sake of it, Sky's gamification of the forum is one of the things I'm not keen on. Others are the signatures that are often longer than their posts 🤣

Thanks @Anonymous
More than 30 years here and counting. Not interested in badges and levels just a solution
