'Free' Paramont plus and Apple TV Offers

HI I thought I woukd get advice from the community over these first time Sky offers with Sky Stream. Joined November and various offers pop up. Netflix I think is now sorted and free as part o f signing up inirltionally as per offer. Apple TV may now be free until June? Paramont plus free now included with Sky cinema bundle is where I am now and it's all driving me crazy!! First off I have spoken to Sky support many times and I will say I have a lot of time for the support they will attempt to give you! That said, some Sky operatives either lack the knowledge base or advise incorrectly. So.... Sticking with the free Paramont plus bundled with Sky cinema as its the most current offer there is a lot of things that are not mentioned anywhere. I am/was a Paramont plus customer already. SKY support and don't tell you you have cancel your current subscription yourself manually. They don't tell you that you have to run the natural course of the remaining subscription with them. I watch Halo but was willing to be patient and wait. Then.. Last night Paramont plus showed on the main homec page of Sky. It then promoted'subscribe'. I thought it's time to subscribe free as per offer. I was was very wrong! In fact the Paramont I clicked on was in the general home page of Sky was in fact a subscription portal to Amazon Prime which to a joining payment instantly.. scary stuff! In fact the real route to get the Sky version of Paramount is Only a the lower half of the screen along with youtube etc I did manage to get a refund from Amazon but concerned I néed to run the remaining time through Amazon portal. My issue is Amazon all promote third part apps through the the upper page of Sky home page. They don't explain they are Amazon and where it was on the page it looked liked a Sky promotion. The fact that on the Sky home page everything is mashed with other competing providers l you don't know who is who! So...how do I break this bottomless loop! Is the Paramount Plus buttons at the bottom third of the home page screen the only the Sky portal for Paramont plus? Understand, as far as I am aware you have to let an old subscription expire first. None of this is explained anywhere! Still a long way getting free Oaroment plus! Others beware don't click on anything mid screen l! It may look like Paramont but you couid be paying through a third party like Anazon who do not identify the self! Hope you can help months in if trying to get free!

Re: 'Free' Paramont plus and Apple TV Offers

I found transferring my Paramount+ billing from to direct to Sky easy, I just had to wait until my direct Subscription ended, cancelled it and then linked the Paramount+ account to my Sky account by loading the Paramount+ app..

The main rail shows aggregated content from Sky's partners so content from Prime does show but it's highlighted as such.

It will also show that it's pushing you to subscribe to a channel via Prime because there's several clicks involved, giving plenty of time to question...

Re: 'Free' Paramont plus and Apple TV Offers

Thanks for excellent answer. I agree in the small print it possibly says I need to manually stop any current subscriptions but ' isn't obvious'.The advice from a Sky operative is also not obvious  and they have acknowledged the deal  is primarily for new customers to paramount but not exclusive to.

In regards to the main rail' shows aggregated content from Sky's partners so content from Prime does show but it's highlighted as such'. Is what I call the mashing of subscriptions from others on the upper page . Thank you for confirming this and that the bottom rail is  unhelpfully( out of sight most of the time) is pushed to the bottom of the page in favour of upper strapline banners for movie TV  ads that occupy the entire top of the front screen for no apparent usful reason. The best way to access the Sky/Paramount portal to access the the free version of plus bundled with Sky cinema is from the bottom rail. This I now know the hard way . I can assure you one  can  one click by accident to join anything  on the upper page. I know, as I have done it.

I think I will get there now and thanks for your help.

One of the features i would quite like to have on the Sky streaming platform is the ability for a user to configure which other services they have accounts for, so for instance you could turn off the Apple TV shows from appearing on the rails, if you don't have an apple TV + subscription.

Personally i think it would make it cleaner and there would be more space for them to make recommendations of shows you might be interested in wathcing from the apps you can actually watch.

That's never going to happen.

The Entertainment OS is an advertising platform as well as a streaming service.
Disney+, Prime Video, TNT Sports, Apple TV+, Paramount+ etc all want non-subscribers to see what they're missing out on, so that if something catches a customer's eye they might decide to subscribe to see it. That particular streaming service therefore makes money.
That's what it's all about. £££££.
