F1 UHD Dolby atmos?

Hi

does sky F1 uhd do Dolby atmos or not? I usually get atmos on football but for Bahrain gp it's not in atmos.

Similar issue here. Although the Soundbar is reporting Dolby Audio the feed is definately not multi channel with nothing from the rear speakers on SkyF1 UHD. Switch to Main Event UHD and the rear speakers fire up with Dolby Audio 5.1.

The world feed isn't supplied for broadcast by F1 with Atmos. I read online this is due to the complexities in placing the mics, mixing the audio and the amount of data required to provide a full Atmos audio track.

My soundbar is reporting standard surround rather than Atmos during the race but I'm sure it said Atmos during the pre-race sections produced by Sky.

@Nigelb1972 , that makes sense. But there still seems to be a difference between F1UHD and Main Event UHD. F1UHD seems to be a 2.0 Dolby mix, while main Event UHD has a Dolby 5.1 mix.  You'd sort of expect the dedicated F1 channel to have the better audio mix. Then again, this is Sky we're talking about😂

@Barrowboy63 it could be a Sky quirk or it could be a strange commercial decision by F1 as these things often have stupid rules 🤣

My soundbar only reports Standard Surround or Atmos and nothing in between and I'm a bit mutton in one ear so i only use Atmos for the improved sound quality rather than the surround sound aspect 🤣

I am sure you may have spotted it but the problem with only PCM 2.0 sound (which was also low in volume) on the F1 UHD channel was reported and eventually fixed  to be the normal DD 5.1 sound midway through Qualifying 

As per other posts F1 has never had Atmos only 5.1

Yesterday's race on F1UHD carried a 2 channel soundtrack. I reverted back to F1HD where it was carrying a 5.1 soundtrack. I prefer better sound and my television (LG G1) does a good job upscaling.

Thanks chaps. At least it confirms it was a Sky issue and not one with my kit.

Only getting 2.0 on F1 UHD now for P1 in the sport washing GP, while main event UHD is 5.1.

I am getting 5.1 on the Satellite Feed on SKY Q so this may be limited to SKY Stream this time

@nigea99 Yup I'm stream, the F1 HD channel  on 902 is 5.1.
