Erroneous no internet connection message when turned on

When we turn on the puck it says there is no internet connection and the time is approx 7,5 hours out. If we wait a few minutes with this blue screen then press the home button everything comes up as it should.

Re: Erroneous no internet connection message when turned on

On advice from sky I powered down the broadband router. I decided to also power down the puck, cut the mains, on Friday. Left for a couple of hours, fired it all back up and since then it has worked fine. Might be worth a try.

One cause of this maybe an option in The Sky Stream puck settings.

We tend to recommend changing the defaults to the settings below;

Go into your puck settings and change the following options;

Settings>Start up and Standby>
Set Network standby mode to ON and Overnight power saving to OFF.

Re: Erroneous no internet connection message when turned on

Unfortunately that did not work, although it did correct the time on the blue error screen.

Re: Erroneous no internet connection message when turned on

This is such an annoying issue and surely Sky could easily correct it with an update.

I thought some European directive meant zombie equipment always switched itself off so the settings mentioned won't make a difference?

The Puck always switches itself off and I can put it on a few minutes later and the message can report no WIFI (even if Ethernet connection). So random and the Puck should have a bit more patience as it can often sort itself out without switching off and on!

Come on Sky and sort it!

Re: Erroneous no internet connection message when turned on

I get this message a lot of the time, I have the settings suggested in the thread set as suggested and it makes no difference. It started happening around 4-months ago for me and I get the message 40/50% of the switch ons

my internet is 1GB and my wifi is solid at 350-390mbps in the area the puck sites
