Using the restart feature from settings takes longer than using power plug method
It takes abot 3 min to get to home screen menu.
Yeah ....
quite handy for those with a tv on the wall and the socket behind though
And at least we can change up the "pull the plug" comments to "press restart in the settings"!
Also handy when you are comfortable on the sofa or armchair 😀
My tapo smart plug is even better " Alexa ... sky glass off" .... "Alexa ... sky glass on "

Restart function won't be of any use if you have Sky Glass or Stream Puck freeze as in when you can't access any settings.
In that situation you will still need to use power plug method.

Good point @Paul+Boland

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreShame there isn't a voice command for the new restart function that would be super useful rather than having to go through the menus.
With the system being primarily designed for voice control that has surprised me a little bit.

@Chrisee You are right it is an improvement but @Paul+Boland has an excellent point should the machine freeze. You not going to be able to get to the menu if it frozen.

Well that's the same for any of these electronic devices but at least like a lot of devices there is a way to invoke a restart through the UI now where you can.
To be honest I've found in the past 2 months I've had to reboot my stream puck a lot less than I had to in my first 4 months of it use.

I have had my sky glass TV and stream puck on standby every night since 1st may and still both have not received the 1.3 update.

As I previously mentioned in post number 55
Sky updates are rolled out in batches over a few weeks it's depends on your devices MAC address and home address location.
Some customers Sky glass/stream pucks will get updated in June.
Software updates It's not unusual to see some customers mention they have got an update and others only get that update after another 2 to 4 weeks.

All good things come to those who wait. 👍

One of our pucks has received the update overnight, weirdly the other three have not, other than the obvious change to movies page one thing I have noticed is that the low latency channel is not on 401 at the moment and still 922.

Hi, can you post any photos showing any difference to the UI please or any other differences
