I just think streaming / anything via the Internet really sucks.
There are certainly many more variables when it comes to streaming TV via the internet, many of which are outwith your control.
I now live somewhere that gets Gigabit symmetrical full fibre broadband, so we get around 960Mbps up and download speeds.
We have most devices connected via ethernet to a switch and I have to say I've maybe experienced two audio drop-outs in the past three years we've had it. We stream most content from apps in UHD, often with Atmos, and couldn't be happier really.
If you need to rely heavily on decent broadband for streaming/work/whatever then you really do have to be careful with choosing both a place to live and a supplier that can provide a decent connection. You also may need to invest in decent hardware in order to get the connection to the rooms you need it in. If you do all this then the streaming experience can be vastly improved.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
I thought mine was fixed when I put the earlier post but again randomly now started having dropouts with atmos. I have full fibre gigabit too and atmos or anything never drops on tv apps, ps5 or chromecast just on sky stream. I've now officially ran out of ideas with sky stream

That's why I got rid of it.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
Okay, I have been dropout free for over a week now with the puck. It has been a long and drawn out process. Sky have been pretty useless - I'm not convinced they actually believe this is an issue. They certainly don't acknowledge it and their customer service advisors don't have the training to support. But after some sheer persistence I may be there. Here's what I've done.
1) Upgraded to Full Fibre 500 from 150mbps.
2) Altererd the location of the puck. I've cleared it as far away from any electronics as possible and lifted it well away from the ground. I've received advice that Glass, Mirror and Metal are an issue. As is being with 2 feet of any electronics. As is being less than 2 foot from the floor. All these things affect WiFi signal, reflecting or absorbing it.
3) Stream supports Wifi6. Bog standard Sky router doesn't. I've upgraded to Sky WiFi Max, which does. It also promises to penetrate walls better.
Using the built in Netflix speed test, my connection speed has lifted from 60-80mbps to 250mbps. So, maybe issue resolved. I'll post again if not.
My fixes could be coincidental, but ensuring you have a clear WiFi connection and lots of bandwidth might be the answer.
Good luck to anyone reading this with this issue. It is an issue. It is not supported by Sky and nobody tells you that you need to follow these steps when you order a puck. But I'd certainly try them. It may well have worked for me.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
Just watching Small Town, Big Story episode 1 and had 2 drop outs in the first 16 minutes. It's taking a long time to fix.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
Sky puck set to pass through connected directly to 800mbps via cable. Connected directly to q930 soundbar with a 48gbps 2.1 hdmi and I still getting sound glitches drop out. Sky sort your pucks out. Ps also happens on my upstairs tv Samsung Earc to a Samsung atmos sound bar.

@Dave1234567891 Try changing your audio output to Digital Dolby+... I did this a couple of months ago and haven't had a dropout since.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
That would defeat the objective of having an expensive soundbar wouldn't it? Sky needs to sort their puck out to deliver what it's advertising.

I have to agree, I don't need to dumb down my audio settings on any other device for it to work correctly.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
@Dave1234567891 No because Dolby Digital+ contains the Atmos codecs plus everything in between. I've been using this for a while and my Soundbar happily switches between the relevant codecs to deliver the correct audio output. But, if you feel using the correct audio output setting is below you and your expensive soundbar if beneath you, carry on as you are but I'm sure Dolby Labs built that particular format for a reason 👌🏻

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
I am currently trying to watch Moblands via Paramount plus and the app can't even run the ads.
Where do these things get tested ?

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
Have you checked the speed your puck is getting via the built in speed tester on the Netflix App?

Except you don't get the best quality that can be delivered like you do when using passthrough.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out
My speed is fine. I have zero issues.
I have zero issues with Netflix. It just works all the time.
The other apps have issues. I use the refresh app and restart feature a lot. That seems to fix any issues.
- I have zero issues when I use my iPad.
