Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

When you power on your TV does it go to last used HDMI or does it go to home ?

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

@Scrumpet it's the cable you need to check not the port. eARC can shift a lot of data so your HDMI cable needs to be HDMI 2.1 to ensure that there's enough available bandwidth to push the uncompressed audio and UHD video through...

According to his feedback.

The cables are brand new.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Thanks for the help guys. It goes to the last used HDMI port, I turned quick start+ off. I've changed the cables tonight. Bought brand news HDMI 2.1 High speed cert. They replaced other 8k 2.1 cables. Dropping out on all trialled cables.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Try making it go to home first.

I switched mine off. It was causing issues with audio.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Will do!

It was set to that until yesterday evening to be fair, someone said turn it off to fix it. Hasn't worked so far...

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

@Ayallogue they may be brand new but are they HDMI 2.1 ?? Age of the cables is the question, it's whether they're HDMI 2.1 standard or not because it potentially makes a massive difference..

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

As mentioned they are brand new 2.1 cables, with verification for high speed.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

There's a fine line between insulting someone's intelligence and trying to help them.

I've tried different TVs and multiple Dolby Atmos Speakers with a wide array of 2.1 cables over eARC. There are issues with this product. End of story.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

I feel your pain. I tried so many things and have Atmos working on two different 4k receivers / TVs (both 7.1) and with at least 6 other Atmos devices connected (900Mbps internet) which have never had a single dropout ever in over 7 years!!, just the stream box causing problems. I've given up and cancelled around a month ago and send the box back tomorrow. I will look at NOW tv at some point with my Apple box when I need a Sky fix again as I hear that's meant to be dropout free. All I can say is that I wish I cancelled it long ago as this just drags on with seemingly no fix ever coming.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Is this just a stream issue or is it a Q issue too?

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Years ago we had audio drop with a Sony TV and Sonos Playbase using Sky Q. The only way we fixed it was to use an optical cable and forget the HDMI. I am now going back to a UHD Q box and hope there are no issues. We've got expensive kit and it will be a shame if we still have issues. Currently, we are using native apps on the LG TV with a new Sonos sound bar with absolutely no sound drop. So if Q doesn't work Now TV could be an option.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

I have a samsung s90c and q700b samsung soundbar , after trying various things and reading up on various forums . I turned off voice enhancement on my soundbar and it seemed to have fixed the audio dropouts for dolby atmos. Maybe if this helps someone

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Last night I got really bad audio drop outs via the TNT native app in my TV.

I just think streaming / anything via the Internet really sucks.
