Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

My HDMI cables are already 2.1 48gbps. It's not that. Your solution simply doesn't work.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

@Castiel109 They're HDMI 2.0 then. HDMI 2.1 has over double the amount of bandwidth.

My solution works perfectly well but if you don't want to take the help, thats fine... You carry on in ignorance with your audio dropouts and I'll carry on enjoying Sky Stream in glorious UHD HDR & Dolby Atmos without any audio drops as I have been for over a year 👌🏻...

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

They're really not. All my HDMI cables are 2.1. As I said they have 48Gbs bandwidth. 2.0 is 18Gbps.

maybe know what your actually talking about before giving advice on HDMI standards.

While it might work for you, as this thread has proven, it doesn't work for everyone.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Ahh ok. Sorry I misread your post (dyslexic)... If all your cables are 2.1, check your settings and also that your TV supports eArc and HDMI 2.1. and also that your audio device supports DD+ because it definitely works.

100% doesn't work for everyone and to be frank, we shouldn't be having to botch a solution cos Sky can't come up with a proper solution or provide capable hardware.

Apple TV and NowTV is the way to go.

I agree, it doesn't work for everyone but the poster thinks they are right and everyone else is wrong, now that is what I call ignorance.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

I've done everything you suggested. It hasn't worked.

I tried it on my G4 LG and my Marantz/Kef Atmos setup and also with a Sonos arc partnered with a G5 LG.

all with e-Arc enabled etc.

Sonos in fact was worse, with the dropouts lasting minutes rather than seconds.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Can I just ask and clarify that you have checked the speed to the sky stream puck? You can do it with the Netflix app. Worth a try. It uncovered for me a super slow speed that couldn't handle the high res image/sound. Alterations after that have helped for me.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Yeah. One of the first things I did. All my pucks are wired anyway and I have gigabit internet.

I've tried pretty much everything suggested in this discussion including moving the pucks and so on.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Wow - really bizarre then. I wonder if you've got faults in the hardware somewhere then? Don't really know what else to say. I guess keep badgering Sky? See if they'll send out an engineer or something? Good luck!

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

I think with the puck it's luck of the draw and I suspect that the internals are highly dependent on batch suppliers etc.
