Doesn't look like this issue is resolved yet. I am a Sky Q subscriber and have set up my Discovery+ app according to all instructions, and yet when I try to watch any Olympic stream it says 'upgrade your pass then select retry to start watching'. I've no need to upgrade anything as this is included in my package so I'd be grateful if a Sky representative could reply here and tell us what's being done to fix the issue with your partner, and when can we expect resolution. I've already missed several events I wanted to watch which weren't available elsewhere, I'd I like to be able the enjoy that which I'm paying for.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Bannock it's unlikely that Sky will reply here - it's a customer Community. But see previous posts. They're aware of a couple of issue with Discovery+ which D+ are working on. There's no published timescale for resolution.

Oh that's all right, then. Silly me for expecting it to work from day 1 and customers receiving the services they pay for.
I've already read the previous posts. I'm adding my dissatisfaction to those others, in the obviously vain hope we'll get a reply from Sky without having to spend pointless hours on the phone to them on this first warm sunny Sunday of the summer.
Jokers, Sky and Discovery. You'd think they'd make sure a flagship service was working as promised before people want to use it.

It's seemingly clear that WBD isn't that bothered if UHD sport content is available on the version of the app they have created for Skys platforms.

Just rung.
SKY SAY IT IS FIXED
When pushed however they couldn't answer what exactly is fixed as there seem to be three (that we know) issues leading to this message. I asked specifically about the basic subscription issue but they were not sure. So give it a try!
Reset the apps:
Home->Settings->System Management->Resets and Updates->Reset Apps
It may take up to 24 hours to fully reset all, but just keep trying.
Fingers crossed.

Just in case anyone else struggled to find hidden apps refresh !
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select. then highlight Refresh all Apps on this box.

What an utterly appalling attitude they're demonstrating then. Dominate the broadcast rights then deny a huge number of paying viewers from watching the content. I think I'll write to Ofcom. Not that I believe it'll make the slightest bit of difference, of course.

I suspect Ofcom will tell you they have no jurisdiction over either Warner Bros Discovery Inc or the IOC, and that the Olympic Games, whatever their global stature, is essentially a private business franchise with some incidental sporting activities attached.
The BBC retains some coverage because technically the Games are a 'designated event', but even then the access which the BBC has is controlled by the IOC through its broadcast contract, which very definitely prioritises WBD over the EBU PSB channels.

I am still not able to watch the live stream either via sky glass or on my iPad it is extremely annoying - i have the discovery think my account is basic problem.
Has any one else who had this issue now working?

UPDATE
The App reset does not seem to have worked - have logged out and in also to make sure.
Please post on here if it has worked for you.
I've gone back to Discovery Plus now and gone round and round with them repeating to me I've a basic package. Was really getting annoyed thinking I was being fobbed off with a bot when they said I was talking to a person - must be their training.
I said I wanted an update from their side on this issue that Sky way they are working on together.
Anyway, I finally got the point across that the Basic subscription was not our doing, it's all automated between Sky and Discovery Plus; there's a bug somewhere probably for people with long term subscriptions and we should be moved from Basic to Standard.
So it has been escalated and they are going to update me with an email.
I've asked for a ticket reference or escalation team contact details for future communication, but I'm still waiting.

I've been talking to someone on a discovery + post on Facebook as they didn't have the activate button. Discovery + have replied to him saying to DM them so they can help activate the Sky discovery + offer which is needed to have the standard package rather than this basic package we all seemed to have been left with.

The offer is what I was told at the beginning. Two things as far as I can tell:
1) The offer is a very reasonable 3.99 a month and can be cancelled, but should not be required as the Sky Entertainment link to Discovery Plus is the Standard subscription.
2) I gave up and tried to get the 3.99 offer to use on my TV yesterday (with a different email address to my Sky account) but I got caught in a loop and couldnt find a way to get back to the email/password login on Sky - just kept getting the activate code.
In summary - Our Sky implemented Discovery Plus accounts should be Standard as standard.

When talking to DiscoveryPlus I changed tack a bit and started the conversation with one question to them - Tell me what my subscription type is through my link with Sky. This finally gets through that it is Standard and stops them going back to the computer saying Basic. Eventually. And highlights the issue.

It will be interesting to see if your contact can then see it through their Sky app, or if they have to use another device.

I cant get onto my Discovery plus account - i hardly use the email for my account, so have asked Discovery to send me a password reset email , but it hasnt appeared. Very frustrating that Discovery plus is SO DIFFICULT TO ACCESS !!
