Channel 4 app error message

Does anyone elses Channel 4 app not work through Sky? We're having to go back through our television to watch it.

It just says Content Error. I've refreshed the apps in Settings but no change.

Annoyingly you can't re-install apps through Sky, it used to fix 99.9% of issues when doing it through Samsung.

Thanks.

@SwankyOrc The Ch4 app is pretty useless.  I have not had your content error but frequently get DRM failure and also Render failure error messages particularly when using the FF or RW remote commands.  Ch4 are aware of these 2 issues and are working to get them resolved.  Your Content error is probably part of the same problem.

Whilst I can't prevent the errors when they do occur I simply move to another App for a few seconds and then back to Ch4 and this seems to resolve the matter (until the next time).  If you get the content error again it might be worth trying.

Not had your error, but have had a couple of  'drm' errors.

I fixed that by doing a voice command with the Stream remote, whilst still in the C4 app saying 'Netflix', once that loaded saying 'c4 app', which returns to the C4 app and problem for that time fixed.

Seems that switching apps does some kind of temporary cache clearing or reset.

Have also recently had a few similar drm errors using my Roku and Smart TV with the c4 app, so it is not totally unique to Sky stream.

But, as mentioned above, Sky are working with C4 for a fix.

Re: Channel 4 app error message

You can't re-install because there's nothing to re-install on the Puck🤔

The app is on a Sky server. ... there is a connection issue between your Puck and the Sky server... have you informed Sky?

@SwankyOrc it's worth taking a look at this thread:

the post currently marked as answer is a workaround that can be done which should resolve the issue at least for an interim period.

As noted by others Sky are aware of issues with the Channel 4 app and are engaging with Channel 4 to get them permanently resolved.
