2.50.5 is a recent UI version update that customers may probably have now.

Can you try the following

Reboot your broadband router that your Sky Puck is using.

Then, once up, do a Sky Puck settings restart;

Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Stream puck will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete.

Once, your Puck is up and running, leave on a live channel for around half hour, before moving around the menus.

Does that improve your lag?

Ok thanks.

I have the same as you 2.50.5

Power cycling the box seems to have fixed the sluggish response of the Home Screen.

Where do you find the UI version on the Stream puck?

In the puck settings under Systems Management, scroll down to find the UI version.

Also seeing the lag building up in the 37 version - ok after a restart, then gets slower -
Maybe some kind of memory leak - obviously QC did a lot of testing before sling this over the wall

Hi

I get the bit about rebooting the router/restarting the Sky Stream Puck. How does watching Live TV for approximately 30 minutes also help?

I've done as you'd suggested. I'll report any changes, if the lag returns.

Thanks in Advance

Barry 🙂

@Barry+Mc+Kelvey

The live TV is just for startup to try and settle the Sky Stream puck, perhaps help any cache refresh on the restart, rather than immediately rolling up/down through the menus.

Have, as there  are a few of you seeing this issue, alerted Sky in our closed forum area.

What is the hardware model of your Puck as shown in Sky Stream puck settings?

@darling412001

See you have a Gen1 puck

Hi

I'll report back tonight with that info, when I'm back home.

How can you tell that they have a Gen 1 Sky Stream Puck?

Thanks

Hi

Hardware Version: IP061-ef

Looks like I also have a Gen 1 Sky Stream Puck.

What's the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2?

Thanks in Advance

Yes, your puck is a Gen 1

Copying what I have already mentioned on here on previous threads about the V2 type puck.

It is not a Gen2 puck, like the Sky Glass TV is an upgrade in specs to the Gen1 TV.

There is no expected performance difference to the current puck.

Expect, its just a similar chipset from another supplier. Something many hardware manufacturers do to help steady supply chains.

The newer Puck has a smaller power cable plug end.

You cannot request one as a replacement for your current puck and as far as we are aware there is no plan for any replacement of a current puck with this one.

But expect going forwards, new customers will be sent one or the other.

Re: Build Version QS037.041.00P

Mines laggy on the main screen, just powered off for a bit at the plug, was better, watched a bit of live TV, gone back to home screen and it's laggy again. The puck and the glass gen 2 freezes, lags, when I press back it freezes and have to press home again. Not very good when it's costing this much every month. What's happening? Is there a fix coming? Or I'm sending both back, don't see how it's fair to keep taking money for a poor service. Other streaming devices don't have these issues and cost a lot less.

Re: Build Version QS037.041.00P

My UI has updated to 2.50.6 overnight. I wonder if this is to fix the sluggish Homescreen?

Possibly, I'll have a look later, thanks for letting me know, would be good if sky informed us that an update was available as a notification or something, and some update notes. Thanks again, I'll update if it's any better.
