@Amz1987  You can't remove them, but you can fast forward through if you have ad skipping wth your  Stream/Glass subs

If you are watching Sky content on demand  it can be pretty random when or if Sky add adverts to the show based on my experience, unlike when watching via some of the other on-demand app like ITV X where you know there will be ads.

@Amz1987

Sky is a commercial television platform where advertising should be expected.  Its absence is a bonus, not the norm.

Re: Adverts suddenly appearing

What was the programme?

Without adverts the subscription in general would have to increase... Perhaps the programme reached a popularity level were advertising space could be sold on the programme?

You pay £5 for ad-skipping, the ability to manually fast forward through adverts on some services, you cannot pay for an ad-free service on Sky Stream.

You can get ad-free on Sky's NOW streaming service with the Boost add-on.

It amazes me that some people pay for something and have no idea what they're paying for.

Re: Adverts suddenly appearing

I've noticed this issue suddenly start happening to a series I'm watching as well, not usually an issue because I have ad skipping so I can just fast forward through it but my issue is that the advert is actually cutting off parts of the programme, so it's like the episode is still playing but the advert is playing over it. Extremely annoying when I'm paying so much for this Sky Stream.

Re: Adverts suddenly appearing

I'm new to Sky. Exact same thing happening here. I thought the £5 a month was worth it so I didn't have to watch ads, now they've suddenly appeared 12 episodes into a series and it's a total pain trying to skip them and make sure I stop at the right bit.

Sky should offer a Netflix like experience with their on demand content. This is garbage...I wish I hadn't entered into a contract with them.

Happens randomly and sporadically with no logic .....

I've been watch the Ark on sky sci-fi and halfway through the season the ads appeared.  Not worth forwarding as there only seems to be one each break

No biggie - chance for me to pop on the kettle or check my phone ......

That was never claimed to be the case, though.  If you were told that by Sky then you've a reasonable case for mis-selling.

Re: Adverts suddenly appearing

It could be an automatic process related to popularity?

Adverisers could be buying advert placement on on-demand based content access ... its not worth spending money on placing adverts where they will never be seen?
