5.1 audio for each channel

Hi everyone,

I have a Dolby 5.1.2 system. My TV is configured as a pass-through, and my Sky Stream decoder is set to Dolby Digital Plus. Is it normal for traditional DTT channels to always be in 5.1? If I watch using only the DTT TV, only the center channel on my system works.

Thanks,

@RyoSaeba86

Might be worth setting the audio to Dolby Digital + and seeing what happens on the DTT channels

Also I would make sure on the TV itself is set to Bitstream and not PCM?

For none 5.1 channels  they should not be using the centre channel as they are 2.0  (i.e. Front Left & Right Channels)

If you get sound through the centre channel then you probably have some processing set.

AFAIK ITV has not used 5.1 on any platform for many years - I don't have Stream to be able to know for definite (It certainly doesn't on Terrestrial TV or Satellite or ITVX app)

The BBC uses 5.1 on some programmes but far from all

(I can't remember C4 & C5 although I know C5 does use 5.1 on some)
