Why after I've entered all my details to try and rent a movie does sky store say an unexpected error has occurred. This has happened continuously for days.

Find out moreIt is probably not a bad thing that this error appeared @Don70 because although you are able to rent using your phone, if you plan to watch it via your Sky Q box (I presume this is what you mean by TV) then you would not be able to as you can't rent on a phone and send the film to the Q box to view as you can only do this with a Buy and Keep film and not rented ones.
If you want to watch it via Sky Q then you have to rent it via your Q box.

In order to rent the movie you must use your phone. The TV shows a qr code to access it. When navigating to the sky site to access the movie I get the unexpected error message when I enter my last name.
As a result I'm unable to access any sky store content. I'm unable to find any useful advice about what to do.
I'll be finding another TV and Internet provider when my contract is up if I can't fix this.

I'm having same issue. Interested to see if you resolved. I've tried the app, and two browsers on phone and same result.

Solved it...
The reason for the error is because you don't have a last name associated with your Sky Id, you need to add these details to your Sky account.
- sign in to your account at sky.com
- go to "My Details" and then "Manage Sky ID"
- click "Edit Name" and then add the missing information
You should then be able to access the Sky Store

Thank you so much. This solved it. Boo to Sky for not solving it or having useful information. We had given up. Thanks to the person who worked this out. Merry Christmas
