Both scenarios were answered, you retain access on your compatible devices if you leave Sky TV, and if you did rejoin Sky TV at any point in the future you can send them back to your Sky box, be this within 12 months or over 12 months.

Can sky confirm that after this I will be able to upgrade my purchase for £2 to have a dvd sent to my home? If so then this would easily be resolved.

Earlier on in this thread I confirmed that at the other end of this, it will be possible to contact Sky Store if exploration of options available to upgrade HD Digital to HD Digital + physical is desired.

Re: Sky store now download only?

@Anonymous you still haven't actually answered why the faq describes 'buy and keep' as with a physical copy...

What is Buy & Keep?

Buy a movie or TV show from Sky Store and get it in HD straight to your TV and devices and on DVD or Blu-ray to keep and watch again and again. Many new release Buy & Keep movies and TV shows are available digitally early so they're yours to watch before they're out in the shops.

Whenever I have used Sky store in the past I have had the choice to 'buy' (digital only) or 'buy and keep' (with a physical copy) as described in the above faq. I chose buy and keep this time (as stated in my email receipt), which had been changed without changing the information that is accessible on the website.

Re: Sky store now download only?

@Anonymous , as I've now asked 3 times for an explanation on the faq "what is buy and keep" I'm going to guess that you can't actually answer without saying I'm right. I'll take it up with sky directly, thank you for you help.

Hi @Jh340

Just some "another customer " thoughts on this

Thinking back to when there were 3 options for buy and keep, one of those options was always digital only

I guess someone might argue that it's implied that  if you choose the digital version (even if that's the only option) then it's implied there isn't a hard copy to go with it

I agree a change of wording would be preferable but for me - I knew what I was getting when I clicked digital only

Not trying to persuade anybody about anything - I just think I knew what I was buying

Re: Sky store now download only?

@mike+simmonds Hi, thank you for the input.  I agree that it did look different, we bought it from a phone account which said 'buy and keep'. Because the options seemed reduced I checked the faqs specifically because of that. The price was £13.99 which is what I paid for 3 other buy and keep purchases with a dvd. The price and the faq combined led me to believe that I would get a dvd.

if I had known what I was buying I wouldn't actually have bought it. As it was a present I now have to get the dvd extra.

Maybe I should have looked on here before the sky store site, I would have then realised pre-purchase,  but was unaware on this community until I tried to find out about the dvd being missing from my order.

Re: Sky store now download only?

Maybe should have the option to buy a HD download and physical DVD (buy and keep) but the DVD be posted when the restrictions are eased.

We definitely want a DVD copy of the movie we wanted to down load.

May as well just buy it from the supermarket.

How easy will it be to "upgrade"?

Re: Sky store now download only?

Why don't you still offer the facility of a physical disc or Blu-ray on your site and send these at a later date to customers when we return to normal. We always order a digital and Blu-ray and there are no options to do this now - so we now have to now buy a digital version on sky and a separate Blu-ray which is going to cost us more that £17.99 in total!  So we are not only penalised through this situation but also penalised because we can not get Sky Q at our home and get the offers and discounts available for your priority Q customers.

Re: Sky store now download only?

Are you not able to still give the Blu-ray or Dvd option in the mean time? And just release when the suspension is lifted?

Hi @Ahancy

I guess Sky don't want to accept an extra payment for the hard copy until they know for sure they can supply them

It has been said on a couple of threads that the total charge for say blu ray and download has two components. You will pay one component now for the download, then when the world gets back to normal you can talk to Sky about paying the extra amount to "upgrade"

I imagine the logistics for shipping tens (hundreds ?)  of thousands of DVDs / Blurays is very staff intensive so understandably these staff are being asked to help out in other ways

Re: Sky store now download only?

Yes I  understand that @mike+simmonds but if Sky were to publish on the store how much it would cost to "upgrade" and provide the physical disc when we are all back to BAU maybe they will retain customers business.

Re: Sky store now download only?

I paid £15.99 for the buy and keep (dvd included) for Frozen 2 prior to release on March 30th but have still not received my DVD copy.

Has it been cancelled or can I still expect my copy by April 14th as this is the tenth working day.

If you order it when it was possible to order the Blu-Ray version as well then you will get it in the end but as you have discovered there could be a delay.

Keep an eye on your order tracking page here:

Re: Sky store now download only?

I know that the buy and keep (digital + dvd) option was more expensive than the digital only option..

That's my point.

The digital + dvd was £13.99 the digital only was around £9.99 (depending on the age of the film could be lower)

So if you have temporarily stopped the inclusion of the dvd in the buy and keep because of the current Covid19 issue (which we all understand by the way)

Why is the digital only option still priced at £13.99?

Which previously was the price of the digital + dvd option.

This is what I'm annoyed about, as it seems sky are trying to profit out of the current awful situation we all find ourselves in.

Not really great P.R. is it?..
