You have to rent the movie on the device you want to watch it on, as you rented on your ipad you have to watch it on your ipad

Are you saying you rented it via the Sky Store app built into your TV or via your Sky box ?

If you rented it via the Sky Store app on your TV then it should be there for you if you are yet to start watching the film. You will be unable to watch via your Sky box if you are a Sky TV customer.

Just to add a little to the other answers @Betty45

edit:

I assume you have.a recent LG TV - you should be able to login to the Skystore app built in to the TV and watch it on that

Also - providing it's not one of the £15.99 premier rentals, if you have a Chromecast- you can cast it from your IPad to your TV

Some Sony and JVC sets have built in

Chromecast which should also work ok (again - not with Premier rentals)

For the future - if I have a voucher I usually put it toward a buy and keep as these can be sent to your Sky box (if you have one)

My experience is that a.movie I have rented on my IPad - will play fine on my LG built in Skystore app. Have you found differently ?

I never rent movies, I know if you want to watch via your Sky box you need to purchase on the sky box, I only ever watch my Buy And Keep movies I got free on the LG Sky Store App

Transfering rentals from the ipad to the LG App is a new one to me 🙂

Re: Rented films

I don't have an LG TV It is a Panasonic.

so what you  are saying is that if I rent a film from the 'sky store' on my tv, the film will go directly to my iPad and I cannot watch on my TV?

Hi @Betty45

When you say you rented it on your TV - can you clarify a little

do you mean you have a Sky box and while you were watching Sky - on your TV - you used the Skystore part of your Skybox to do the rental ?

If not - could you clarify which system you used to arrange the rental

that will help us work out for you what's going on

Re: Rented films

I have a sky Q box and I went to sky store to get the films to rent on my TV I don't know where to look to get them. I have checked purchases but they are not there. I checked on my purchases on iPad and saw them so I know it went through.
what is the pathway to get them on my TV?

thnk you

Hi @Annie+UK

"Transfering rentals from the ipad to the LG App is a new one to me 🙂"

it's not so much a transfer, it's just that the built in app on the LG allows you to log on and if you happen to have just rented a movie on an iPad - the Skystore app on the LG can see that rental and allows me to play it

Hi @Betty45

What's confusing me here is that you said you used a voucher - but you can't use a voucher to rent on your Sky box 🤔🤔

May I ask - when you put in the voucher code - how did you do that ?

The more I'm thinking about your problem @Betty45

If you can see the rental on your iPad, you must have somehow bought it online or on the app

which as @Annie+UK and @caesarome mention - means you can't transfer it directly to your Sky Q box
