Purchased Movies

Hi All

I have purchased many movies through Sky, Buy and Keep Digital and Buy with DVD. Some where I have not purchased the DVD I cannot download a Digital copy to my PC even though the UK Law allows you to keep a digital copy of your own.

With a DVD you can store a Digital copy on the premises which is what I do as I use a pc as a media centre viewing movies from any other device on my home network. This means that instead of having massive storage units I can simply put the DVD into the loft out of sight.

When I use the app on my PC I cannot even download the movies to the PC, why is this and how do I get my digital copy?

Thanks in advance for your help

So what you are saying is that some of your Buy and Keep titles are not showing via the app, do they appear via your Sky Q box ?

Re: Purchased Movies

The movies do not appear in the App on my PC.

If connected to Sky Q Box and they are downloaded to the box I can see them but cannot download them to PC.

If they are not downloaded to the Sky Q Box then I cannot see them.

If not connected to the Sky Q Box then I cannot see them at all.

Hi @Bling35

Which app are you trying to view them on ?

There is an official app / website called Skystore  (rather than Sky Go )   If you use that you should be able to view your purchased movies on a device.

It might be worth getting in touch with Sky Store support about this:

Hi @Bling35

If you look in your PC folder

users / your name / app data / Roaming/ Skystore-desktop-container / indexedDB

I think it's buried in there - but not in a format you can play it from directly.

@Bling35

As @mike+simmonds indicates, the data associated with any particular purchased item will be encrypted for playback only within an authenticated instance of the Sky Store app: no  rights owner licencing content to an online distributor wants their product to be available in a format which can immediately be redistributed for wider viewing in other software media players by non-paying viewers.
