recording issue

I seem to have a nasty software bug.

  When I  record a film that has a little unrelated event in the middle. For example on ‘GREAT! movies’ (Ch321) the films usually have a news bulletin in the middle...

  So when you press REC on the first half of the film it does a series link to pick up the second half (as you would expect). But at the end of the recording, I have two series' in 'My Recordings', each containing both halves of the film. And if you delete one series, the other deletes too!

  This is very annoying!

  Do other people see this odd behaviouir?

Yes: issues introduced by the (bogus) 'News' inserts have been regularly posted about (and have carried over into Glass/Stream, although manifesting differently there)

Essentially these may be insurmountable because of the game the offending channels are playing with Ofcom: they carry the 'Celebrity' or 'Movie' News item in order to cram in more advertising without breaching Ofcom regulation, but this means the content on either side of the News cannot be treated as the same item by the Sky platform.

@TimmyBGood

Thanks for the info.

Let's hope they sort it out somehow!!!

Meanwhile, you mention "the offending channels".. Does this mean that it only happens on certain channels?

Or does it happen on any channel that has a bulletin event in the middle of a film?
