Re: moving to a care home
He would need a separate new account at the home. Perhaps speak to the staff in the first instance to clarify what they'll allow ie; a separate dish.

@Clare129 Sky Stream/Glass might be the product to use with him. You need to speak to the care home and see if they can accommodate Sky via broadband or if they have Q then a minibox might be an option too.
Hope things work out for you both. Tough times.

@Anonymous
The OP does need to speak to staff but imo it's unlikely the home will already have an expensive Sky Q account plus Sky Sports on a business subscription and even a mini box would only help 3 residents.

If the care home cannot support a Sky Q, Sky Stream or Sky Glass installation, the other option is NOW TV. This is an app available on many smart TVs or streaming devices like a Firestick or Apple TV box. It allows you to stream live Sky channels, including all the sport channels as well as on demand. You can subscribe to just Sky Sports if your Dad doesn't need the Entertainment or Cinema channels. You can get 6 month Sport contracts for around £20pm, or you can pay on a month by month basis.
NOW TV can run effectively on a relatively slow broadband connection, as low as 2.5Mbps. Sky Glass and Sky Stream needs sustained speed of 25Mbps minimum to run consistently so it's worth checking what will be available to him if you want to go down the streaming route.
