It's funny how YouTube works fine if I watch it on the app on my Samsung TV and every other device. But still, nothing to do with Sky Q software. It would be laughable if I didn't pay through the **bleep** for a monthly Sky subscription!

Original post on other thread was back in October 2023 and Answer was posted on 10 Sep 2024. So they've been pretty disengaged there for a long period too. The advice to "watch YouTube on another app" is pretty staggering. 😡

Really?
To be fair, the advice to watch on another device is from other customers like me and is really to help protect your sanity! 🤣
YouTube stopped working as it should about a year ago on Q, clearly Sky do not know what the problem is and Google are either not in a hurry or really struggling to replicate the problem to fix it.
Ultimately, while Sky provide the platform, the performance of the apps on it is down to the owners of that particular app. There is nothing contractual between you and Sky to say they have to provide a working version of YouTube, nor do you pay Sky anything for the privilege of accessing it on their hardware.

While I agree that Sky have no obkligation to deliver 3rd-party services, I do think that when they do so they should be at an acceptable standard. This is clearly not the case for YouTube. Personally, I bought an Apple TV box to solve the problem. I now look at almost all Sky output with this.

Sorry if this as already been answered, but I went to Audio Visual in settings and turned on 'Judder Reduction for TV Apps' and that seems to have done the trick. So far so good anyway.

I was looking at Stats for nerds in the YouTube settings.
There is a huge difference in the bitrate and latency when accessed on a smart TV compared to access via Sky Q box.
Please let me know how to navigate to the Judder... setting.
Thanks

I did just try the judder setting on my Sky Q box. Whilst my YouTube doesn't bugger generally, unfortunately my issues with the stuttering after pausing a video is still an issue when I do that.

That doesn't surprise me. I had to use ethernet (actually back-hauled over a wifi mesh anyhow) to get any half decent transfer speeds from my Q box.
