Maybe I'm just really stupid. Maybe I have a faulty box. Or maybe the option is just plain broken, but...
Can someone please explain why the 'Continue' option in the recordings menu hardly ever works? If I have a series recorded, the 'continue' options seems to get stuck on a particular episode, no matter how far beyond that episode I have watched. Take for instance the show Friends. No matter how far into the series I have watched, choosing continue in the recordings menu, always takes me back to an episode from at least two seasons earlier. The same episode every time. And it's the same for any long running series.
How hard can it be for the system to just remember which episode I was watching last and just pick up from there??

I haven't specifically seen the behaviour you describe but I admit I am not surprised.
Unfortunately the Continue section is known to be quite unreliable - some of the behaviours I have seen is to point to an episode already watched and deleted or point to the next episode well before the existing episode has is near the end
We generally advise customers to use the 'Continue' section with great caution and only select items when they know it is pointing to the correct episode
The buttons above episode thumbnails in the Most Recent section can also be errant & again I advise always scolling down & using the buttons below
It is never likely to be fixed as SKY are only performing limited updates on Q & have never formally accepted that the Continuse ection (& associated buttons) are flakey

this may be a reason for it.

@Daniel0210 - If I scroll across from Home, and then all the way down to the 'Continue watching' list, it's slightly more reliable, but can still get stuck on a particular episode, despite having watched aeveral episodes beyond.
@nigea99 - thanks for your input. It seems to be very unreliable, which ever option I try when wanting to pick up a series where I left off. Ah, well. It could be worse... I could have to endure the train crash known as Sky Glass instead.
