I have a sky q and a mini on vodphone broadband, using a ASUS AX82u gaming router for mesh WiFi.
Often the main Q will drop connections to the router, needing a reset.
the mini is NEVER connected meaning you need to run up and down the stairs to reconnect it.
now remembering I have an expensive gaming router because I've lot of WiFi devices connected. It's also why I have fast vodaphone fiber over sky phone line speeds.
EVERY device (bar the sky ones) connects fine.
Yet the process in Q is to blame the WiFi and sergest it needs rebooting.
clearly there's an issue in the Q software that means if it loses connection it doesn't try an reconnect on its own.
but back to the question. This isn't my first post on the matter. I've seen other on it too.
1: why dose the mini (and the main) lose connection and not reconnect.
2: how can I fix this so using my tv isn't a 30 min workout going between boxes!!
3: why do I pay for a mini I never use because it's never working!!!!!!

Billing for the mini box (ie; Multiscreen) will continue until such time as you cancel the Multiscreen subscription and return the mini box. Because you have a connection issue doesn't stop your payment obligations especially if you haven't told Sky about the issue.

If your mesh network is clashing with this range then you will have issues. Ensure the mesh is set at channel 52+
The Q boxes will only use 2.4GHz to connect - so ensure any channel steering is disabled. Best to split SSID's for both frequencies.
If you want to use your mesh then all the Q boxes have to be connected via Ethernet.
