Why can’t I see q box WiFi hotspot on my phone?

Despite being across the room from q box / tv (<3m) I often get slow or no internet connection. I have sky broadband so q box should be hotspot but hotspot doesn't appear in iPhone WiFi list.
And, sitting next to router yesterday - different room, iphone couldn't connect to WiFi.
very frustrating.
any thoughts. Thanks in anticipation.

When acting as hotspots, Q television boxes broadcast the same SSID (network name) as the Sky Hub, so won't show as a different network or wireless access point.

Thanks   So if q box hotspot isn't working - and I'm not getting internet despite being a couple or so metres away, how can I check this

Hi

Did you find an answer to your question, I have the same issue, am 4 feet from my main Q box and have weak signal on my phone. I have Sky broadband.

Thanks

Re: Why can’t I see q box WiFi hotspot on my phone?

Closest to an answer was that the router name is same as the hotspot in the Q box so you don't know if you're connecting to box or router. BUT if you're in same room as the box / really close to it then surely it'd show as full signal.
that's not the case with you.  Or me. So we must conclude that there's no signal coming from the box.

not very good.
