I'm unable to cast YouTube and other apps to my tv as my SkyQ box is not detectable.

You cannot cast to Sky hardware, be it a Q box, Stream puck or Glass TV.
You need a device with Airplay or Chromecast capability such as a Firestick or Apple TV box.

In these situations it is always best to make a fresh start by power rebooting your broadband router, your phone and the Sky Q box.
Are you sure that everything is on the same local network. Is the YouTube App on your phone the latest. Again for completeness I would delete and re-install the App.
If it still doesn't work, what is the make and model of your phone.

Hi @Padam_Padam You can with YouTube, it doesn't actuall cast but opens YouTube on the Sky Q box and plays the YouTube video.

Correct. Only with YouTube. Both devices need to be on the same broadband network for it to work.

Hi @Padam_Padam Correct, which is why I mentioned it on my reply to @Sharon888
