UHD SkyQ

I have just purchased an LG UHD TV but cannot get UHD on it, the highest resolution I can get on the Q box 10.80.

I have been paying for HD previously

@BigAl29 check the link below for what Q box you have the original 1TB boxes were non UHD so you may have to upgrade your box

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

@Doc5907  Apparently I need another box, the standard 1t box does not support UHD.

more money for sky got to pay £99 for UHD BOX 😭

Be aware that a lot of content tagged by Sky as UHD is actually upscaled and not native UHD. To view these programmes in upscaled UHD you don't need a Sky UHD add-on as your TV will do the same job if you tell it to.

 

Sky should label content more accurately in the EPG: their own regulations say they will label upscaled content as "Remastered for UHD" but this isn't happening, presumably because they want to deceive the uninitiated into thinking they are watching UHD content.
