Re: This programme is no longer available

After spending many years looking at exactly this type of thing in the pharma industry, auditing IT companies, they know exactly what code was changed .
What it takes is effective management oversight of their third party developers and ensuring they have robust practices in place to deal with this sort of thing.
Sky obviously do not.
it really is that simple and exactly how s/w development and implementation should be !

Re: This programme is no longer available

As previously stated, all I did was update my router and instantaneously the problem was fixed. It's now been over a month and I've had no issues

As stated previously all I did was update my router and the issue was resolved straight away. It's now been over a month and that issue has now gone. Happy days.

Re: This programme is no longer available

It might even be worth disconnecting your router from your sky box, leaving it for 10 mins and the reconnect to see if that works

@cathy+greenwood It's not that simple

I agree if everyone on Sky Q was having this problem it would be simple, but as this is not affecting everyone Sky have to first be able to  replicate the problem.

Also what makes it harder is that it's not affecting everyone with a Q box so they need to work out why it's only affecting some people and not everyone (is there a common demoninator ie all using the same Q box version etc) then once they know that they can work towards a fix.

Even then once a fix has been found it has to be tested all takes time

Why not just humour me and try what I've said, if it doesn't work you're no worse off. If it does work then great

Because you replied immediately after @Laing1 so they presumed you were referring to them. It's a "feature" of the Sky forum software that you have to actively quote a post or tag the person you are replying to.

Yep. It would be better if quoting was automatic (then you get the problem of people refusing to edit down the quotes and then just typing 1 line at the top of a massive quote).

To be fair, it's also assumed in general "how web forums work" knowledge that you never just hit reply and type without saying who it was aimed at. You always need context. A jumble of context-free posts is just a mess to read.

I don't know if there's a setting they can change in the Khoros software they use, but the XenForo software that a lot of football forums use, only quotes the last post in a chain, you can click a button to go back and track the thread if you want, but it makes for a far cleaner forum.

Re: This programme is no longer available

(Replying to myself here for context 😀) After reporting no issues for many days, got up this morning to find the box stuck halfway booted with the fan blasting away at 100% once again.

Looks like it is back to switching off the box at the wall at night again ...

Re: This programme is no longer available

Hi all,

For reasons unrelated to this I have been sent a new(maybe reconditioned) sky Q box. Since receiving this box I am getting this "Programme no longer available" issue all the time and it is infuriating. Is it the box then? Never had this before on my previous box.

I have to keep unplugging the box over and over again.

Re: This programme is no longer available

If it is any help my previous box as of last week was version Q360.000.08.00L (68x37s0) and hardware version 32B206

and this new box (with this issue) is Q360.000.08.00L (68x37s0) and 32B205

note the hardware version is the only difference. What boxes do you all have? I'm upset I have gone from one issue seemingly to another here.

Thanks

Re: This programme is no longer available

It's not a box issue. We had our previous one for 10 years with no issues until April when this started. The box they swapped it with has the same problem so this means it's definitely not hardware related (well for me anyway)
