Re: This programme is no longer available

I've got the same problem and had it for 3 weeks. work in IT as well and I can tell you this is definitely a software glitch. This needs sorting ASAP

Re: This programme is no longer available

I have this exact problem started about 6 weeks ago we have a Phillips TV with the audio through an optical connection to an AV amp and the hdmi direct to the TV.

I thought the problem may be a software issue so did an update still no good

Sky came out last week, we had to wait over a a week for an appointment, and they replaced the box so we have now lost all of our recordings and guess what it's no different still the same problem.

I have however put an inline switch in the power cable so it is easy to reboot now 😂

I have been thinking of ditching Sky recently so this issue may well make up my mind for me.

It was/is a software issue! But it can only ever be fixed in a future version of the software. You'd need a time machine to get the fix at the moment.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Another one tricked into replacing the hardware for a software problem, thus losing everything for no good reason. Of course it's the same as before 😞

Re: This programme is no longer available

just found this thread.  had the same now for weeks.

why can sky not just roll back their s/w "fix" to the last version that worked?

They must know what is wrong, so whats the hold up ?

I'm not sure it's even possible to roll back to an earlier version. They may or may not know what the issue is but that doesn't mean it's an easy or obvious fix and of course they then need to test it to make sure they've not broken anything else.

Re: This programme is no longer available

Thanks

having worked developing IT systems, validating and implementing for years , it is common practice to roll back to the version superseded if you want movement bad code !

I've found instances of bad development all over the world including India in many occasions!!

Any, I'm sure they know what they are doing !!

Re: This programme is no longer available

You don't need to roll back, you just call the old version a new version and "update" people to it.

Anyway, my "turn on/off at the box" technique is still working.

I think tomorrow morning I'll try turning on via the remote like I used to and see what happens.

Re: This programme is no longer available

Turned off at the box last night, then used the Sky remote to turn it back on this morning (triggering the TV and soundbar to come on at the same time).

All worked.

So tonight I'll turn everything off with the Sky remote and back on tomorrow morning again with the remote.

Any update it's been 4 weeks since it was being looked into?

Re: This programme is no longer available

Also keen on an update - we had the engineer out on Friday who spoke to tech support and they are not aware of this issue apprantely. He spent a long time replacing everything possible and its still all the same. Its getting very frustrating now 😞

Re: This programme is no longer available

I noticed there was an update to the s/w, which I did 2 days ago.  So far it is all ok, so may be fixed or just. Coincidence and I'm lucky not to have it okay up for 2 days
