Re: TLC Channel
I rang Sky and while they reported it, they were quite pushy in me subscribing to the HD package.
I pay for Sky for my mum and she says "I don't have HD eyes" but she's finding it hard to get to the SD channel at the bottom.
I hope it doesn't mess up her recordings as she's in hospital right now

TLC sky freeview
What is happening to Sky Essenial, I also had the TLC channel (133, 233+ and 828) on Tuesday, wanted to watch the channel today (Sunday) the channel that was free is saying I need to upgrade for a freeview channel. Just contacted sky, was told to switch off and switch back on still no freeview channel. I wish I had an TV aerial I could watch TLC channel.

hi @Shazsky
Do you have a problem withyour SKY Essential package other than TLC - if so what ?
Regarding TLC- there does seem to a be a problem with it asking for people to upgrade at the moment - see

Re: TLC sky freeview
That was not the Question and TLC has nothing to do with SKY Essential package ... or other SKY Packages..
And don’t say "You can watch TLC over the Discovery+ App" ...
IT SHOULD BE FREE TV but is Encrypted now...Again, SKY has made a big mistake, that’s why it is now Encrypted again...
All we can do is waiting to Monday.

Re: TLC sky freeview
To clarify, 'Freeview' is a particular branded EPG for digital terrestrial television, broadcast from a mast and received through an aerial.
Channels on Sky Q which aren't covered by a Sky content subscription are 'free to air' satellite television.

Re: TLC sky freeview
Contacted Sky too in regards to TLC and was told I had to upgrade my subscription to receive this channel..
I repeated its now a free channel but the sky rep would not change his mind..
I also wish I had an aerial or my own top box..
What a let down...

Re: TLC sky freeview
It's just a mistake at TLC/Discovery's end. I'm sure they will fix it tomorrow.

Re: TLC Channel
Don't understand why the tech team didn't just tell me to watch on 828 and would have no issues..

All
The issue is with TLC/WBD who have for some reason reset the encryption flag to on, this isn't a Sky issue as it affect Freesat customer also.
Please see the info here https://rxtvinfo.com/2026/freesat-viewers-locked-out-of-tlc/

@Maniatore2006 as per the answer on the thread below this now does not appear to be a problem caused by Sky as customers using freeview TV are having exactly the same problem it appears its a TLC/WBD problem

Re: TLC Channel
@stereohaven wrote:Lest we forget, while they sort out this transmission issue out (or whatever it is), if you have activated your Discovery+ Entertainment subscription that you get included with Sky, you can watch shows on demand or even the TLC channel live.
To watch TLC live via the app, open Discovery+ and on the home screen, scroll down to "Channels", then across to TLC.
You can also access much of the content available (Sky subscription dependent), by simply saying the name of the show into voice search.
TLC live channel on Discovery+
I believe a subscription isn't even required for free to channels
The app on Sky appears to lack the browse option that other devices have.
