This post should not been classed as "Answered", which assumes fixed.
It has NOT been fixed ! As many have posted....
Sound drops out regularly, perhaps as much as every two minutes.
Currently watching Liverpool versus Chelsea 401 (UHD & Atmos) - 20th October 2024
Tried 402 which does not drop over a 15 minutes period, so perhaps only related to UHD.
Also tried other sound settings .. like Dolby Digital+ and straight forward Stereo but same thing happens.
Can you please provide an update ??

Dropping out for me too. Only on the UHD channel. Very poor

Sky charge us extra for UHD so if this is their "fix" we should get a refund.

Exactly that. What the hell is going on sky

I cancelled my UHD as it was unwatchable. My TV upscales just fine so not really missing it.

Sound drop out occurring all afternoon on 20/10/24 from 1300 - 1830, and still doing it during evening. We are all fed up with this issue and those at Sky are just not admitting to it being an issue. Please understand all at Sky, THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH SOUND DROPOUT with your equipment. Please look into it and sort it...

Had it here in London too on 401 UHD broadcast again but far worse this week. Also the lip-sync delay was quite a bit out with the pundits in the studio. Very annoying when paying for this 'premium' service.

Happened all during the Liverpool match yesterday and the sync was off too

401 UHD was completely out of sync for Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos all day yesterday, during primetime events. HD channels were fine, so it is definitely a UHD issue.

Posted by a Sky employeeHi all,
Thank you so much for continuing to engage on this thread.
There have been two issues identified off the back of last nights game.
1st issue, Lip sync during the broadcast of the Sky Sports Liverpool & Chelsea game (and some other content). This was picked up during the broadcast and resolved.
2nd issue, Sound Dropout on Main Event UHD. This issue has been identified at the same time & is currently being investigated. That being said, we are interested in any feedback on future UHD events and keen to hear back if things are fixed, or if more works required on this one.
Please do continue replying to the thread if your issue relates to Sound dropout. Any other sound related issues, please start a new thread.
Marking this as the answer (for now) to make it easier for new visitors of the thread to see the most up to date information.
Thanks

Hi Daniel, unfortunately it is not limited to just the match yesterday. It happens indiscriminately on channel 401. Fortunately it only happens on that channel as no issues watching the F1 channel.
Do Sky know what the issue is?

I got fed up with this issue and my Samsung TV & Puck & started fiddling in the settings during yesterdays UHD game, I changed the Puck sound from Auto to Dolby Digital + & the problem has gone.

So far so good on main event UHD during the buildup to tonight's game. No dropouts at all and also lip sync seems fixed too. Fingers crossed it stays like this 😀
