Sound dropout on main event

Sound is dropping out on main event while watching the darts.. it's not as frequent as the last dose we had before.. but it's crept back.. hopefully just tonight

Happening to me as well although if I go to 402 and pick UHD from there it works. Crazy this has been resolved

Yes, the sound drop outs are awful on Main Event UHD (Liverpool v Everton) but the sound is fine on the UHD option on Sky Sports Prem League (402)

Glad you guys managed to find a way round the issue.

It seems to be the same type of fault, with audio drop outs but I get the problem on all channels and at all times.

There's no set pattern, it can start soon after switching to the channel and it can start after you've been watching for a while.  It doesn't happen on recordings or downloads and, like you, I have a way of getting round it by pausing the broadcast for a few seconds.....ie: moving the broadcast from the dish to being played back from the hard drive.  I need to get another engineer round and try another box, to rule out whether it's the box itself or something to do with my AV receiver.   I have a Primare SPA25 and would be interested to hear from anyone else with the same amp.

Does changing the audio output format have any effect?

I have a Primare SPA25 and don't have a problem with dropouts. I used to have an Arcam and did have the problem with that until I routed everything through the (Sony) TV (which isn't necessary with the Primare).

The Sky Q box is connected directly to HDMI 1 via a 1.5m high-quality cable and the TV to the ARC.

I thought Sky had solved this problem. All the temporary fixes are in these threads. I originally had sky engineers out it was agreed it was an issue with sky. It is not your individual hardware. Last night the Liverpool Everton on UHDvwas dropping sound for me on Sky Q. My wife commented as I was listening to the villa match on talk sport. So again we have this issue Sky. My fix was to go to HD.  Bottom line is we are not getting the service we pay for. Fix it Sky or at least go into detail with why it happens and refresh all our memories.

Sky continues to demonstrate its lack of customer care. It is the end for me, my contract runs out in October and I cannot wait to put an end to Sky and their ineptitude.
