Skybox not working

Power going to box yet it won't configure

What do you mean by "won't configure"?

Got a replacement box followed setup procedure and it won't engage/ configure

Still none the wiser but for a new box Try performing a New Install

A notice on the TV says we will be with you within a few minutes the screen goes black then the q starts flashing with a red power light, have left it for hours and tried restarting it, remote will not connect.

I assume you mean the illuminated Q on the front panel.,  which is a Sky Q feature, not Sky+ where you've posted. I'll move your post to the right forum.
