Hello all,
I have it set in Sky iD preferences for them not to contact me via phone, email or post. Yet over the last week or two they have tried to phone me three times. I have not answered because of this. Do Sky not take any notice of there customer account settings?. Next time I will answer it and give them a piece of my mind! Is there a body I can complain to about this?

Note that this route is only viable if the calls are actually from Sky, or a Sky-affiliate such as Domestic & General pushing Sky Protect. Criminals, by definition, don't generally take much notice of regulations...

Numbers are easily spoofed.

You are better off not answering as, if it is a spoof call, they will then know there is someone at the end of the number they are calling and will probably keep trying again and again but with different numbers.
That's how I understand how automated spoof dialling operates.

I know how it works! I love playing my phone call clip from the film Taken when spammers call 😂

Hi @Ash1955 Like you I looked up the number on reverse lookup. The comments are predominately scammers pretending to be from Sky. However you should know immediately if you do answer, if there is a delay between you saying hello and a reply you know it is a scammer using an auto-dialer.

They are also adapting. The most recent one I had were even taking notes and repeat calling!
I spend a long time stringer these wasters along. I can't believe they were happy to call me Mr Mickey Mouse for so long! (Eventually they blacklist the number)

Yes I'm fully aware of all of that, old guy here seen it all just about! I sometimes have fun with scammers 😉 . Most of the time I don't answer any number not in my contacts, plus in all my life I have never bought anything on the phone or my doorstep and never will.
