I couldn't log into the sky website and still can't this morning, so looking there wasn't an option

So did you follow the recommendation to turn your Sky Q off at the wall, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on again?

As previously stated I have done all that was advised , still not working.  Just want to cancel as this is breech of contract , no proper support and just trying to sell more items in line , I am done and currently in hold for last 20 mins

How do you expect Sky to know the email addresses of every customer affected? Your Community log in name is not linked to your Sky TV account so Skybwont know who you are. Your suggestion is totally unreasonable.

To cancel your TV subscription fully, if you’re out of contract you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice. The latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term.

If you successfully cancel you should receive an acknowledgment email from Sky.

If you are cancelling Sky Q, return packaging will be sent out near the end of your notice period. It’s important that you obtain proof of posting and keep it safe and indefinitely.

Maybe , but trying to speak to someone is a joke and they have your email for your account , so they should be able to send something , they send enough junk email ! I am very frustrated with the whole situation

Yes I did try the "recommended" fix last evening 5 times but it didn't work. It did work this morning

Hi and thanks for the help you are providing on here.  I got my Sky Q box working again using the method you suggest.  But since the outage yesterday  there is no internet connection and the methods to reset and reconnect just keep failing.  If this is happening to anyone else I wonder if it's connected to the outage.  Will wait a few days to see if it can connect again to the internet and restore lost connected services.

Sky Q box freezes up and screen goes black every 20mins

While we are trying to watch a recording, the Sky Q box freezes up and the TV screen goes black. Unplugging the box for 10 secs resets it but 20 mins later it does it again. If we're also recording something it stops recording. It's driving us mad! Just having the TV on is OK.

My experience was similar: I was watching live TV via the Sky Q box yesterday eveing and around 9.30ish I hit pause to go and make a drink. When I hit play a few minutes later the picture disappeared and the TV displayed "no signal". I wasn't worried because I was also recording the show so I waited till after the show had ended, then unplugged the box for a minute and let it reboot. But when I went to watch the recording the planner said only 33 minutes (of 60) had been recorded due to a power cut. To be clear, I didn't cut the power until well after the recording should have completed.

 

I then tried to watch the show on Sky Q's Channel4 app but after a few minutes I got the "no signal" message again so unplugged the box and left it off overnight. This morning, plugged it in, it rebooted, everything seemed normal but there was no network connection. Manually re-entered router password and it appears to be OK now. 

 

So no harm done but would be interested to know why the recording failed due to a "power cut" when there was no power cut.

i have the same just started to happen with our sky box , what is the cost for a replacement ?
