Hi. Old sky q remote select button has stopped working so I have bought a new one. I unpaired the old one using 7 & 9 together. On the new on I selected 1 & 3 together and all I get is a setup unsuccessful message rather than a selection of tv brands to search through.
I have reset the sky q box.
I have used 7 & 9 on the new remote before trying the 1 & 3 buttons together.
I am pointing it directly at the sky q box from about a meter away.
At my wits end with it. It will control the sky q box but not the tv. Old remote did control the tv so not a compatibility issue.

Hi @martinhb
Just a couple of points.
No need to unpair old remotes when replacing them with new ones. Pairing a new remote automatically replaces the previous one.
Sometimes there are instances where pairing is unsuccessful and I have experienced this on occasions in the past.
All you can do is keep trying. Assume you are using new batteries.

Brand new batteries tested with a multimeter. Tried pairing for over an hour and still getting no where.

Hi @martinhb
Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu. This may help and does require re pairing after the reset. This may reinstate the pairing ability
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Hi, I'm having the same issue and have tried all of the above. Was this resolved another way? Thanks

Unfortunately not. I'm still going crazy and having to use multiple remotes.
