Sky q remote not working

Sky q remote not working. Changed batteries etc tried pressing 1 & 3 together (red light just flashes) all it does it turn tv off after long press of standby button. Oh for the android sky virtual remote 😁 Do i have a dodgy q remote ? 👍

hi @cookiemonsteruk 

 

Try a reset of your remote:

Press & Hold the 7 & 9 until the remote's light (red LED above the SKY logo button) flashes 4 times

Then  try the  re-pair as you have tried already :

press 1 & 3 together to go through to re-pair with the box and your TV - make sure it has line of sight of the box as until it is paired it uses Infrared

Had to switch off the q box at the mains to begin with but getting set up unsuccessful error

Your duplicate post has been removed.

 

After checking the basics, ie; fresh batteries, re-pairing etc if your Sky Q remote is definitely broken/faulty, if you follow this link it should allow you to do some more troubleshooting and then it’ll send you to a form to request a replacement (there is the possibility this is not available to customers in the ROI).

In the meantime it may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer / larger supermarket. If you do that as well as the above you’ll have a spare.
