I'm waiting for my new sky q box to arrive for an exchange of my old one. I keep having to change the date because it's not suitable but that's by the by. I'm getting myself worked up about swapping it myself. Is it as simple as they say?

It's easy - carefully unscrew the two satellite cables from the back of the box. Unplug the HDMI and power cables too. Leave the HDMI cable connected to your TV though - there's no need to swap it unless you're upgrading from an HD to a UHD box.
Remove the viewing card from the slot.
Get the box, remote and power cable together and wait for the courier to arrive. When they do they will open the box with the new replacement Q box in it and hand it over. Make sure you get a new remote and power cable too. Give them your faulty box, remote and power cable.
Put the new box where your old one was and screw the satellite cables into position on the back, attach the HDMI cable and power cable. Insert your viewing card and then power the box on.
Job done.

Yes, but remember to remove the viewing card from the old box before handing it over as you'll need it for the new box.

And…
Also accept the power cable the courier brings in case it's a different fitting to the one you have.
