@Mrsellabee
If a message displays “no satellite signal” firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s likely to be a dish alignment issue so check the troubleshooting in this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.
If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise with your building management company / landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact.
Remember, a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels.

Any issue is with your set up. A wider issue would affect the whole country.

Re: Sky TV - get “no satellite” message intermittently but cannot locate reason
It doesn't necessarily have to be the whole country, there could be a local issue and , localised failures wouldn't be unusal, it has happened my service before with others in the area affected. Hence my query, any known issue.

A satellite signal issue is either countrywide or your set up. A countrywide issue would melt to forum. Every Sky Q and Sky+ customer would be affected.

Not true. Ive had a satelite signal issue before and it wasnt my setup. Other users were sffected in the area. They had Circet out doing works to fix it, they never came near the house to fix it

That would most likely be heavy cloud between you/Your area and the Satellites
The Satellites are approx 22000 miles above the Earth and the signal covers the whole of the UK & Ireland - not individual areas like terrestrial TV
