Sky Q touch pad

The touch pad on my remote doesn't work when I try to swipe. If I press the swipe buttons it works. Everything else on my remote works just not the swipe. Does anyone know how to fix this problem as I prefer this remote to the new ones and don't want to change.

Thanks

Hi @Dee1965

If your touch remote is the version with buttons on the touch pad check that touch is not turned off in  Q box settings.

Home - Settings - Setup - Remote control

Re: Sky Q touch pad

I've tried everything but nothing works. I love the swipe buttons and don't want the new remote. They don't sell these remotes anymore

Not a lot you can do @Dee1965

You may find some on eBay but if you do make sure that they are the Mk2 version with buttons on the touchpad.

Given they stopped making the v1 (smooth pad) remote in 2016 and the v2 (with buttons on the pad) by 2019, that's perhaps not surprising.

Re: Sky Q touch pad

Mine has stopped working too!! I love the touch remote so much, why on earth have they stopped making them?? It's like going back in time!

It's by far the best way to fast forward as you can swipe your finger to speed up or slow down the speed and let go to stop. It was also much faster to scroll through things using swipe.

Genuinely gutted they've stopped this. I don't think it's the remote that's broken, they've probably sneakily removed the functionality from the boxes.

The functionality is still there and available@Carrier+Bag I still use the Sky Q touch remote the V2 one where you can turn touch on or off within remote control setup

Also if you go to Settings  Setup Remote Control the first remote is actually the Sky Q touch remote

Have you tried unpairing your remote then repairing again then toggling touch on then off then on again ?

Re: Sky Q touch pad

Thank you, I've tried all of that, even resetting the remote by holding 7 & 9 and pairing it again. That option is definitely on so sadly it looks like it may be broken!! 😭

I've looked online and they're around £100, give or take. I'm surprised Sky have discontinued them, they are so much nicer than the newer remotes.

Oh well, thank you for your help.

Have a look on eBay. There are several on there for less than £10, if you don't mind them being second hand.

Do make sure if buying one, that it is the EC055
You can see the model number on the battery cover.

I too love the touch 'swipe' voice remote and have found for all the ones I have had that after say 3-4 years the touch pad swipe fails, but all other functions of the remote works.
Have managed to get a few replacements and use them as my main RC for Sky Q main and mini box.
