Sky Q subscription message

We have SkQ Siganture, and we wanted to start watching Game of Thrones. When we selected Series 1, Episode 1  we get a message saying we need to upgrade our subscription. Upgrade to what?

hi @DavidD3 

 

Do you have the HD add on - if not then :

As the default download quality is set to HD (high Definition) not SD then when you try to download and watch you are prompted to upgrade (i.e. take out the HD subscription)

You, probably, just need to change your download preference to SD
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

 

If you do have the HD add on but not UHD then make sure you not trying to download the UHD version

Thanks for responding quickly! 

We do not have HD, so I switched downloads to SD. I powered down the box, but still the same message. I have noticed the series is in 'enhanced for UHD', so maybe that is the issue?

You should still be able to download in SD if you have SKY Signature

If you are using Safari I believe you must make sure that 'Hide IP address' is not checked in settings to be able to see it - if you have difficulty finding that setting then may be try accessing here with another browser
